Fruit Description
Cupla is a blueberry variety developed by Cuna de Platero, a cooperative in Spain. According to the Head of Research and Development at Cuna de Platero, Juan Carlos García, “it is a plant adapted to the agro-climatic characteristics of Huelva, Spain”. The cooperative’s research work has resulted in a variety with a large to extra-large berry size, and very good shelf life.
Furthermore, Cupla is a blueberry with a productive cycle that runs from December to the end of April, with most of its production occurring from mid-January to mid-March. The fruit is present along the entire branch of the blueberry bush, which makes it easy to harvest. In addition, it is a very juicy variety with a sweet taste.
Cupla is recognized for being early-harvesting and having excellent quality fruit. Cupla maintains its quality throughout the season, with the delicious flavor. It is a blueberry with low to no chilling hours required, with an erect and low-vigor plant, with an open structure that facilitates harvesting, pruning and other plant management.
